So, it’s been quiet sometime since I wrote on organic personal care routine. I have come across a magical crop “Hemp” and the benefits are tremendous as far as personal care is concerned and I am totally perplexed because I have so much to share and don’t know where to begin from.
A couple of days back, I received a few personal care products from a brand named “Satliva” and I was stunned to learn that the main ingredient in every personal care product that Satliva manufactured is “Hemp/Hemp Seed Oil”. The first word that came to my mind reading ” Hemp” was “Cannabis” because I had always till date used them interchangeably. I had always knew “Cannabis” popularly known as “Marijuana” for all wrong reasons (Psychoactive Drug).
“Half knowledge is dangerous”. I had a long conversation with Mr. Harshavardhan – Founder of Satliva and learnt some lesser known facts and that’s where my perception towards Hemp changed. Hemp is basically a variety of Cannabis Sativa plant species that is grown specifically for industrial uses of its derived products. It can be refined into a variety of commercial items including paper, textiles, clothing, animal feed, food and biofuel.
Satliva manufactures variety of personal care products ranging from Face and Body oils, Hair oils, Lip balms, Body butter, Hair creams, Handmade shampoo bar to Handmade soap bars. Let me brief you about the products I received as per my requirements and what makes them unique.
1) Hemp with Moringa Face & Body Oil : This nourishing oil is made from Hemp seed oil, Moringa oil, Castor oil, Tea Tree oil & Rosemary oil. It’s very light on the skin with the refreshing scent of Tea Tree oil. I have been using this oil since past 15 days and the results are truly astonishing. It is suggested to use this oil before bed time with gentle massage because skin rejuvenation process accentuates at night. It is beneficial in preventing blackheads, reducing dark spots and imparts healthy glow to the skin. I also used this essential oil in the DIY face packs (Add 2-3 drops to the face pack, mix it well and apply). It prevents excessive drying of the skin, leaving it soft and supple.
2) Hair Cream : This cream is majorly infused with Argan oil and Rosemary essential oil. It is an ideal spa cream, right before shower. Massage into the roots and hair & wrap your head with warm towel. Leave it for about 50 minutes and wash it off with a mild shampoo. It works well for frizzy and unmanageable hair. It imparts super conditioning, leaving it smooth and healthy. For best results, use it once a week, like I do 🙂
3) Face Butter : The creamy, soft face butter from Satliva has a mild sweet mango scent along with the sharp scent of Tea Tree oil. I have been using this face butter for two main purpose : Sun Protection & Make Up Primer. It absorbs really well into the skin and has natural skin softening, soothing, moisturizing and protective qualities. Apply small quantity all over the face and neck and gently massage. Leave it for about a few minutes till it gets completely absorbed into the skin and we are good to go. For desired results, apply twice a day.
4) Handmade Body Soap : This soap is completely organic with no traces of chemicals unlike market ready fancy soaps. It comes in great packaging. It gently lathers and brings a feeling of freshness and rejuvenation to the skin. Major infusions of Cocoa butter and Lemongrass extracts adds to the moisture that our skin hungers for. It totally invigorates the bathing experience.
So as you guys know, I totally love organic and natural products. Satliva products have already taken space in my personal care routine. The essential oils are truly beneficial and is a must try for the rejuvenation of your skin. The products work well in increasing hydration and moisture balance in the skin.
